Megalosaurus Jaw Sculpt

This jaw is a sculpt of one of the most important dinosaur fossils ever discovered.  

The awesome Megalosaurus jaw, with a huge tooth jutting forth, introduced scientists to the presence of gigantic reptiles that were no longer living.

Megalosaurus, the Jurassic apex predator of England, was the first dinosaur named. In fact, it was named before the word "dinosaur" even existed!  It was initially thought to be a 70' giant lizard. 10" long and 3" tall, the dentary (lower jaw) has one fully erupted 2" tooth and 4 teeth just beginning to emerge.
