Ceratopsians and Raptors Crate
Ceratopsians and Raptors Crate
The famed Triceratops has legendary horns, but did you know it has double-rooted teeth? Protoceratops, another famous ceratopsian lacking horns, has a single-rooted tooth. Dromaeosaurus was the first "raptor" dinosaur named and thus, to paleontologists, "raptors" are called dromaeosaurids. Their killing claws are legendary! Utahraptor was found with awesome killing claws, which were placed on the hand before we knew what the hand claws looked like.
Triceratops – This double-rooted tooth was able to withstand its mighty munching power!
Protoceratops – The single-rooted tooth reflects its ancestral condition and lesser-powered bite.
Dromaeosaurus – The first "raptor" dinosaur discovered, it gives its name to the killing-claw group of "raptors" called the dromaeosaurids.
Utahraptor- All mounts of this taxon mistakenly have toe claws on their hands! This is what their hand claw looked like, massively recurved like an eagle talon.
