Madagascar: Land of Mystery Exhibit
A Traveling Exhibit of Prehistoric Marvels
Before Madagascar became a land of lemurs and lush forests, it was ruled by creatures so strange they seem born of myth and mystery.
"Madagascar: Land of Mystery" takes you back more than 66 million years, to a time when this isolated island was a crucible of evolutionary experimentation. Featuring stunning fossil replicas of the most bizarre and fascinating prehistoric creatures ever discovered - each one exclusive to Madagascar, and each one revealing novel evolutionary paths. This exhibit is a journey into a prehistoric world unlike any other.

🦴 Exhibit Highlights:

- Majungasaurus Skull – A one-horned, bone-crunching predator with evidence of cannibalism. Fierce, strange, and uniquely Malagasy.
- Mahajangasuchus Skull – A land-walking crocodile with powerful jaws and an armored skull. Not your average croc.

- Simosuchus Skull – A plant-eating crocodile with a pug-nosed skull and stubby teeth. It’s as cute as it sounds.
- Vintana Skull – A mammal fossil so rare and unexpected, it rewrote what we thought we knew about early mammal evolution.

- Beelzebufo Skeleton – Known as the “Devil Toad,” the largest frog ever known with its armored skull and gaping jaws may have dined on baby dinosaurs.
- Adalatherium Skeleton – meaning “crazy beast”- lives up to its name in every way. This rabbit-sized mammal defies expectations with a skull full of strange openings, oddly curved leg bones, and a spine unlike any other known mammal, extinct or living.
🌍 A Place Like No Other
Madagascar, once part of the supercontinent Gondwana, drifted into isolation—cut off from the rest of the world for tens of millions of years. The result? Lifeforms born of isolation and steeped in mystery, these animals are unlike anything else in the fossil record.
