2025 Fossil Crates Paleoart Awards

Fossil Crates Paleoart Awards 2025!

Fossil Crates is proud to announce the winners of our annual Paleoart Awards. These artists were commissioned by Fossil Crates to produce artwork for various projects. Their talent and dedication are deeply appreciated, especially by me (Dr. BC), as I know I can disagree with the 'norm' and ask you to draw something in a fashion I prefer (no lips! ;-)). The winners are:

Best Holiday Image

Happy Holidays by "Cookie” Ganpicha Sahasakul

"I’m Cookie, a graphic designer and 2D animator from Thailand. My favorite dinosaur is Psittacosaurus :) I’m currently working on pitching an original animated series that combines my interests in paleontology and Magical Girls (think Primeval meets Madoka Magica!). I’m honored to work with Dr. Brian Curtice and be featured on Fossil Crates! When I’m not drawing, I enjoy collecting plushies and trying new foods. My silliest paleoart lives on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube at @cookiecuttercritter."

Best Pterosaur

Quetzalcoatlus by Jonathan Metzger

"Jonathan Metzger is a paleoartist from the Chicagoland area, fascinated by the beauty and mystery of our ancient past. Partnering with museums and science communicators to bring organisms and ecosystems back to life through his artwork is his passion. Special thanks to Fossil Crates for commissioning me to make that work possible! Follow on Instagram @artbyjonathanmetzger"

Best Theropod

Tarbosaurus by Carlos Garcia

"My name is Carlos García. I'm 26 years old and Venezuelan. I'm a lifelong self-taught artist and have been dedicated to Paleo Art and Concept Art for over five years. I'm always willing to illustrate any animal, even without experience, as I focus on learning and seeking guidance to achieve the best results. Currently, I'm very dedicated to Paleo Art, but also work in areas of Concept Art such as Creature Design and Character Design. I love video games and nature. Both inspire me a lot to be who I am today."

Best Herbivore

Eotrachodon by Krzysztof Szydłowski

"Hi everyone, my name is Krzysztof, I'm from Poland. I'm passionate about everything prehistory, especially Dinosaurs, PaleoArt, Fantasy books, movies, and video games. I loved dinosaurs since I was six. From that day, I wanted only dinosaurs, toys, magazines, etc. My professional life didn’t go the paleontology way, but I still love it and try to learn more every time I get. I still draw as a hobby and post my art online, and if people like it, I’m happy."

Best Skeletal

Barosaurus lentus most accurate skeletal to date
“Aspiring paleontologist & paleoartist from Chicago. Lover of all things sauropod.” (A man of few words and many skills!)

Congratulations to our Winners!!!
